Park City is launching a reusable to-go container pilot program for the month of October in partnership with Bold Reuse, Recycle Utah, and local restaurants. Park City Sustainability is hosting a Kick-Off Party to celebrate our participating restaurants and reach a goal of 100 residential subscribers for the program. The party will be held Friday, September 30th in the evening, in Prospector Square at the Outdoor Patio space by Este Pizza, GuestHaus and Salt Box. Participating restaurants include Este Pizza, GuestHaus, Salt Box, Deer Valley Grocery-Cafe, Shabu, and Savoury Kitchen. Select restaurants will be offering 10% off coupons for subscribers during the pilot period. This kick-off will also be an opportunity to provide education on the program process for resident subscribers, including participating restaurants and collection box drop off sites. The pilot aims to test out a circular economy solution that replaces single-use plastic takeout containers in the restaurant industry. This is an important climate solution as it reduces the need for virgin plastics production from fossil fuels.
