UCAN is guided by a group of conveners, comprising of climate and sustainability leaders representing government, academia, business, and nonprofit organizations.

Conveners meet as needed to oversee the ongoing development and high-level activities of the Network. Cross-sector representation among UCAN conveners helps ensure balance of priorities and interests across the Network.

UCAN conveners provide leadership in the following areas:

• Initiating and hosting meetings and climate-related workshops

• Identifying and recruiting participants

• Providing oversight of work plan prioritization and implementation

• Supporting general Network structure and operations

• Securing funding to support UCAN activities

• Leading UCAN Workgroups to advance climate-related projects throughout Utah
