Join HEAL Utah and a panel of special guest speakers on Monday, September 28th at 5:30 PM for a virtual screening of Unbreathable: The Fight for Healthy Air.
This 30-minute film will be followed by a live discussion from the filmmakers and Utah-based leaders working to clean up our air.
Unbreathable: The Fight for Healthy Air is a timely, powerful look at fifty years of the Clean Air Act and the challenges we still face to ensure healthy air for everyone. Weaving historical milestones with current day stories of environmental injustice, the film is an excellent tool for educational and community engagement.
This film premieres at a critical time. Asthma is the number one health issue for children, and recent research links air pollution to higher cases and deaths from COVID-19. Environmental regulations and enforcement of existing laws are being stripped away when the need for renewable energy is more urgent than ever.
Directed and executive produced by award-winning filmmaker Maggie Burnette Stogner and produced by Elizabeth Joy Herzfeldt-Kamprath, Unbreathable was made with support from the American Lung Association, AU’s Center for Environmental Filmmaking, AU’s Center for Environmental Policy, and the Hanley Foundation. Tax-deductible fiscal sponsor: American University.
This event is free and you can join from the comfort of your own home!
